Mississippi Gulf Coast
Along with casinos, the beach is the main attraction of this area. Since my last visit, the beaches have been transformed from a debris-covered mess to a well-groomed and picturesque landscape. However, I do not know if subaqueous debris removal has been accomplished yet, though it's certainly a prerequisite to opening the beaches for swimming. This being late autumn, nobody was in the water anyways, but the absence of "no swimming" signs lead me to believe that such debris removal probably has occured.
