Yesterday I passed 3 cross-country cyclists going west, and one going east. The latter is Andy, a contractor from LA. A very easygoing and pleasant guy, I enjoyed riding with him for some of the afternoon. He is more adventurous than me, as he rode through Houston, which I avoided at the expense of being able to visit my old roomate Prateek. Sorry, P. By evening, I rode on faster than Andy, but hopefully I'll see him again today. Like Paul, however, he has straight handlebars, which will slow him in this headwind, and he is not on a schedule, so he is taking his time.
