Fontainebleau state park, Louisiana

I'm camped under magnificent old Live Oaks, on the north shore of Lake Pontchartrain, on land still recovering from Hurricane Katrina's storm surge of two years ago. The foliage is certainly greener than it was last I was here a year and a half ago, as young or healthy trees must have overgrown those that were denuded of foliage and choked by the deluge. However, the park here still has limited visitor services, as many of its structures are still under repair. Still, things aren't too out of the ordinary around here. I wait with excited anticipation to move eartward, and see how the Redneck Riveria (Gulf Coast Mississippi) has recovered from the utter devestation that I saw two years ago, and the patient but hopeful rebuilding efforts that I witnessed a year and a half ago.
