Gulfport, MS
This booming town of never stopped booming, largely because of federal and state aid. It's the region's major port, and handles much oil and agricultural shipping, so it was a priority for reconstruction after the storm. It's now almost as if there had never been a disaster. When I last visited, it was already near recovery. When I first visited, 1 month after the storm, it was the place most actively rebuilding.
